Types of Mustard – There are a variety of vegetables that
have a good taste with various preparations. In addition, the benefits of these
vegetables are also many thanks to the nutritional content in them. One of them
is mustard green, which is synonymous with green color and tastes good when it
has been processed.

Some Types of Mustard Vegetables
Mustard greens
The scientific name of mustard greens is Brassica rapa L.
Often also called mustard meatballs because it is often used as a complement to
faction foods. It has green leaves with slightly whitish leaf bones. For the
roots, there is at the end of the stem that is connected and the bone is
getting smaller to the tip of the leaf which has a matching color.
In terms of taste, it does taste a little bitter, but there
is some processing so that it can eliminate the taste. Although there are those
who ignore the bitter taste and make it as a flavor enhancer and characteristic
of mustard greens.
Chinese Cabbage
For this type of mustard also has another name, namely
Chinese mustard or Petsai. The Latin name of petsai is Brassica rapa (Pekinensis
Group) with a fairly interesting shape. In terms of dun, it has a gradation
color with a slightly whitish green bottom and lighter at the top. The leaves
have a wavy and uneven texture because they follow the bones, even at the edges
also have an uneven texture. The stem on chicory is pursed at the end, fibrous
and has a wide shape.
Pokchoy or Bokchoy
In terms of shape, it looks like a caisin with a small
amount of money and grows longer when compared to caisin. Even the shape that

by the name of mustard spoon.
For the stem has a whitish-green color with a wider size
when compared to caisin. Not only that, in terms of flexibility, mustard spoons
are more rigid.
Sawi Huma
The next type of mustard greens is mustard huma which can
grow in dry places. For its planting is usually done when the rainy season has
ended. This is because this type of mustard cannot survive in puddles. For its
feature are long leaves of whitish-green color and rather narrow.
Pagoda Mustard Greens
The scientific name of mustard pagoda is Brassica narinosa
which has a threaded and short stem. The function of the stem is to support and
form leaves with a light green color. There is a flower structure on the stalk
that branches a lot and grows lengthwise. In addition, there are 4 leaf petals
that have a bright yellow color, one cavity pistil 2 and 4 stamens.
The taste of pagoda mustard greens is fairly sweet and also
versatile. This vegetable can also be used as a salad mix along with mizuna,
string beans, watercress, spinach and arugula.
